Installation & setup

Install the plugin, run the guided wizard, and take your first booking in minutes.

1. Install & activate

1. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
2. Upload the medibook.zip file and click Install Now, then Activate.
3. A new MediBook menu appears in the sidebar. Its database tables are created automatically on activation.

2. Run the setup wizard

Open MediBook → Setup. The five-step wizard creates real records as you go, and you can skip any step:

1. Clinic — your first location (name, address, phone).
2. First service — e.g. “GP Consultation”, with duration and price.
3. First provider — a practitioner, optionally seeded with Mon–Fri 9–5 availability.
4. Booking page — MediBook can create a page containing the booking form for you.
5. Done — links to the next things worth setting up.

3. Load demo content (optional)

To explore MediBook with a populated clinic, go to MediBook → Settings → Demo content and click Load demo content. This adds sample locations, services, providers with availability, patients, appointments, and an intake form.

4. Publish the booking form

If the wizard didn’t create a page, add a new page and place the shortcode where you want the form:

See Shortcode & layouts for layouts, popups, and pre-selecting a service or provider. Then point Settings → Booking page at this page so cancellation links in emails resolve correctly.
