Does MediBook work with any WordPress theme?
Yes. The booking form styles are scoped to the widget and never touch your theme, and the admin uses its own design system. Use Appearance → Custom CSS if you want to fine-tune the form.
Can patients book without creating an account?
Yes. Patients book with their name, email, and phone — a patient record is created automatically on their first booking. No WordPress user account is required.
How are timezones handled?
Times are stored in UTC and displayed in the visitor’s own timezone, with a toggle to view the clinic timezone. Each location has its own timezone, and provider hours are always entered in the clinic timezone.
Can a service need a room or a machine?
Yes. Add it under Rooms & Equipment, set how many units exist, and choose which services require it. A time is only offered when a unit is free across the whole clinic.
Do I have to take payment online?
No. Payment is optional per service. Without Stripe configured, bookings are simply recorded; you can still generate invoices and receipts.
Can staff confirm bookings manually?
Yes. Turn off “Automatically confirm new bookings” in Settings, and new bookings arrive as Pending for staff to confirm from the Appointments screen or calendar.
Is patient data deleted if I uninstall?
Only if you opt in. Settings → Data has a “Delete all MediBook data when the plugin is uninstalled” toggle, which is off by default so your data is preserved.
Can I offer recurring appointments?
Yes. Enable recurring series in Settings; patients can then book a repeating appointment (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly) up to a maximum you set.
What happens to the waiting list when a slot frees up?
If enabled, matching waiting patients are emailed (and texted, if configured) with a link to book the freed slot when an appointment is cancelled.
